Like the E816, the E817/RS Set-Back Thermostat regulates room temperatures to two different temperature setpoints, a lower temperature Set-Back and a higher boost temperature Setpoint.
Like the E816, the E817/RS Set-Back Thermostat regulates room temperatures to two different temperature setpoints, a lower temperature Set-Back and a higher boost temperature Setpoint. A pushbutton on the side of the unit allows the user to select between the two levels, while LED indicators illuminate to clearly identify which mode the unit is in.
In addition to this set-back functionality the E817/RS incorporates a timeout while in the high/boost mode. It automatically reverts back to regulating the temperature to the lower Setback mode after the pre-selected timeout period (anything between 0.25 and 8 hours) has expired, thus helping to reduce overall energy consumption.
Full adjustment of the two temperature levels and timeout can be achieved only through adjusting internal thumbwheels located inside the tamperproof unit, so preventing unauthorised modification to the thermostats configuration.

Remote Sensor (/RS)
This thermostat is designed to be operated in conjunction with a remotely located temperature sensor and therefore does not include the integral temperature sensor within the thermostat body. This provides additional flexibility so that the temperature sensor can be optimally located in the room while the thermostat body is mounted where it is necessary to do so, for example beside a heater or in a riser cupboard.
